Recognizing the blurred lines between producers and DJs, Serato has just released a beta version of an upcoming plugin, Serato Sample. The plugin allows users to sample tracks directly from their Serato libraries and into their DAW of choice.

One of the our most anticipated festivals of the year, Ultra Singapore revealed the first wave of DJs confirmed for its sophomore installment.

Ultra Singapore is happening on June 10-11 at Ultra Park, 1 Bayfront Avenue and will bring back last year’s three stages: the Main Stage, the Live Stage and the Resistance Stage.

Of course, the Main Stage houses some of the biggest household names imaginable, this year including Hardwell, Steve Aoki, Dash Berlin, Tiësto and Nicky Romero.

Tell us a bit about LOOPTOPIA. What’s the story behind the name?

LOOPTOPIA is a portmanteau of the words “loop”, our brand, and “utopia”. Reason Xie, our in-house wordsmith for the past 15 years, came up with it. He is also our bookings director at theLOOP and resident DJ.
