SoundCloud has just closed the necessary funding round to keep the struggling music service afloat. CEO Alex Ljung will step aside though remain chairman as former Vimeo CEO Kerry Trainor replaces him. Mike Weissman will become COO as SoundCloud co-founder and CTO Eric Wahlforss stays as chief product officer. New York investment bank Raine Group and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund Temasek have stepped in to lead the new Series F funding round of $169.5 million.

Released nearly two years ago, Link is a wireless technology that keeps music devices in time over a local network. It enables DJs, producers, and musicians to sync together via Link-enabled DVS software such as Serato DJ and Ableton Live and DAWs like Ableton Live, Maschine, and Reason.

Italian DJ/producer John Type has demonstrated Ableton Link in a creative video. 

Roland just launched its DJ-505 controller for Serato DJ. It’s a two-channel, four-deck control device with a built-in hardware step sequencer at the top of the unit packed with sounds from Roland’s TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines. Think of it as the two-deck version of last year’s Roland DJ-808 controller.
