AlphaTheta DJM-V5 has been officially unveiled as a new three-channel professional DJ mixer, expanding AlphaTheta’s mixer lineup with a compact yet fully featured model positioned below the flagship DJM-V10. Designed for DJs who demand precision, warmth, and creative depth in space-conscious booths, the DJM-V5 translates the sound philosophy of AlphaTheta’s high-end mixers into a smaller, performance-focused format.

According to AlphaTheta, every interaction with the EQ, faders, and filters is designed to sharpen clarity and depth, allowing DJs to guide their tracks into a seamless and controlled flow.

The AlphaTheta DJM-V5 inherits its core design language from the DJM-V10, maintaining a professional 4-band EQ on each channel. This layout allows for detailed frequency sculpting and precise tonal control, giving DJs the ability to shape mixes with clarity across low, low-mid, high-mid, and high frequencies.

Despite its reduced footprint, the DJM-V5 delivers a full-featured mixer experience, measuring 302.0 × 437.5 × 107.9 mm and weighing 8.0 kg, making it suitable for both club installations and mobile professional setups.

Long Throw Faders and Soft Mix Curve Technology

Each channel is equipped with 60 mm long-throw faders, derived from the DJM-V10-LF. These faders provide fine-grain control when layering multiple sound sources, supporting smooth and expressive mixing techniques.

The newly developed Soft Mix Curve subtly reduces high frequencies as the fader is raised during transitions. This results in smoother, more natural blends, particularly useful in long-form mixes and genres where harmonic balance is essential.

Advanced Filtering with Cross Pass Control

The DJM-V5 features three filter types per channel: low-pass, high-pass, and the newly introduced cross-pass filter. This new filter design preserves low-end energy while shaping mid and high frequencies, allowing musical phrases to stand out without disrupting groove or bass impact.

This filtering approach is aimed at maintaining dancefloor energy while offering more nuanced tonal manipulation during transitions and breakdowns.

Expanded Creative Expression with Send FX

AlphaTheta has equipped the DJM-V5 with six Send FX types: Short Delay, Reverb, Shimmer, Tape Echo, PingPong, and Echo-Verb. Each channel includes a dedicated send knob, enabling intuitive and immediate effect application.

The time control adapts dynamically to each effect, combining BPM-synced operation with smooth continuous adjustment. This allows DJs to maintain rhythmic precision while fine-tuning spatial and temporal effects during live performance.

High Fidelity Sound Design and Audio Path Refinement

The entire signal path of the DJM-V5, including its analog circuitry, has been carefully refined to deliver a high-resolution, warm sound. High-quality converters are used throughout the audio chain, from analog-to-digital through digital-to-analog conversion.

Audio specifications include 96 kHz sampling rate, 32-bit A/D and D/A converters, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 105 dB on line inputs. Consistent sound quality is maintained across the master, booth, send, and REC outputs, while the return input also benefits from high-grade conversion to minimize degradation when using external effects.

Integrated SonicLink Wireless Monitoring

A key innovation of the AlphaTheta DJM-V5 is its built-in SonicLink transmitter, supporting ultra-low-latency wireless monitoring. DJs can pair compatible headphones via a simple button press or NFC touch-based pairing, enabling a clean and cable-free monitoring environment.

This system allows sound and control to remain tightly connected, improving booth mobility and reducing cable clutter during live performances.

PRO DJ LINK and Link Cue Workflow

With full PRO DJ LINK support, the DJM-V5 connects seamlessly to CDJ-3000X, CDJ-3000, and rekordbox, enabling precise BPM-synced effect control.

The inclusion of Link Cue allows DJs to preview tracks without loading them, while waveform touch preview lets users audition upcoming sections of the currently playing track. A dedicated cue volume knob ensures a smooth transition from preparation to performance.

Using dual USB Type-C connections, the DJM-V5 integrates seamlessly with rekordbox for Mac and Windows and Serato DJ Pro. The mixer supports a wide range of DJ styles, including DVS workflows.

A Serato DJ Pro license is required, and DVS functionality in Serato requires a Serato DJ Suite license.

Flexible Connectivity for Performance and Streaming

The MULTI I/O compatible USB Type-C terminal supports connections with iPhone and iPad, enabling use with DJM-REC, RMX-1000 for iPad, and external effectors such as RMX-IGNITE, all via a single USB cable.

Insert support for external effectors allows flexible equipment configurations for club performances, live streaming, and recording. Connectivity includes multiple inputs and outputs, dual headphone jacks, SEND and RETURN terminals, LAN for PRO DJ LINK, and balanced master output via XLR.
