DJ AWARDS 2024 Nominees & Industry Awards Announced for Highly Anticipated Return

After a four-year hiatus, the iconic DJ AWARDS is back to celebrate its 23rd Anniversary on October 2nd at Club Chinois in Ibiza. The eagerly awaited event will feature independently selected nominees, now officially revealed.

Founded in 1998 by José Pascual and Lenny Krarup, the DJ AWARDS has become synonymous with excellence in electronic dance music, often dubbed the "Oscars of EDM." Now under new ownership and with significant investment, the awards continue to play a crucial role in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of DJs and industry professionals worldwide, shining a spotlight on the best talents across a range of categories.

This year's edition marks the beginning of a new era for the DJ AWARDS, with "Unity" as the central theme. A cornerstone of dance music, unity is more relevant than ever, symbolizing the power of music to bring people together, celebrate diversity, and forge new personal, musical, and emotional connections across the global music industry.

Andy Grant, the new owner of DJ AWARDS, shares his vision: “Music has the power to unite us, lift our spirits, give us chills, evoke long-lost memories, create vibes, set moods, and even inspire change. That's why we've chosen ‘Unity’ as the theme for the 2024 DJ Awards reboot. Along with this, we're launching the ‘Best Dancefloor Memory’ competition, where fans worldwide can share their top moments on Instagram, tagging @thedjawards. Our panel will select one winner from anywhere in the world to come to Ibiza and receive an authentic DJ Award to keep forever.”

To ensure fairness and inclusivity, a diverse and independent industry panel has meticulously chosen the nominees. Categories include iconic electronic music genres such as House, Tech House, Drum & Bass, and Techno. The awards also recognize the resurgence of Progressive House and Trance, along with newer genres like Organic House and Afro, which have grown into vibrant creative spaces with global followings and innovative artists.

The awards will also feature categories such as International DJ and Live Acts, alongside a Breakthrough category designed to honor the most exciting new talents who have emerged over the past four years.

Complementing the genre categories, the DJ AWARDS will present a comprehensive selection of Industry Awards, voted on by industry professionals from the Association For Electronic Music (AFEM). These awards are divided into two sections: Global, which includes categories like Global Festival and Most Memorable Dance Floor Moment, and Ibiza-focused awards such as Ibiza Track of the Summer and Ibiza Icon.

The countdown has begun for what promises to be a historic night, celebrating the outstanding talents, musical innovations, and key contributions that have shaped the electronic music community in recent years.
