In France, the ban on the work of nightclubs will be in effect at least until the end of January due to a sharp surge in the incidence of СOVID 19.

Jean-Baptiste Lemoine, Secretary of State at the country's Foreign Ministry, spoke about this on the air of France Inter radio.

He noted that the spread of coronavirus continues to accelerate in France. Lemoine stressed that the authorities should also be more active in adjusting their actions to prevent diseases. The secretary of state said that the government is developing measures to support the most affected sectors of the economy, some have been receiving assistance since early December.

In France last Tuesday, almost 180 thousand new cases of infection were recorded per day. The number of patients in hospitals has increased to 17.4 thousand people.

Earlier, the French authorities said that the situation in the country with the coronavirus is critical. The country is at the beginning of a wave of the spread of a new strain of "omicron", added the spokesman for the French Cabinet Gabriel Attal.
