Copenhagen Police Bans Criminals From Local Nightlife

Copenhagen Police have announced plans to introduce ‘nightlife’ zones, from which people with certain types of criminal records are banned. The ban starts on 14th September and includes anyone with previous convictions, including armed offences.

The ban lasts for at least two years – ending in 2023 at the earliest. 

There will be four ‘zones’ in total in the centre of Copenhagen, including Gothersgade, Vestergade, Vesterbrogade and Kødbyen streets.

Criminals who choose to ignore the warning risk facing a fine of 10,000 kroner for a first offence and up to 30 days in prison for repeat offences.
