UK's top music festival Glastonbury becomes first major festival of 2021 to suffer COVID cancellation

Britain's Glastonbury, was canceled for the second year in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event was postponed to 2022. This was announced by its organizers.

“Despite our efforts, it became clear that we simply would not be able to host the festival this year. We are very sorry we let you all down, ”said organizers Michael and Emily Ibiz.

They noted that the tickets already purchased will be valid in 2022.

“We thank you for your incredible continued support and look forward to better times,” the organizers wrote.

In 2020, the headliners of Glastonbury were to be Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. This year, the organizers have already announced that one day the main stage will be led by Paul McCartney. The festival was supposed to take place in June.

In 2019, the event attracted 175 thousand visitors, including The Cure, Stormzy and The Killers.
