Smyths Toys Introduces DJ Setup iDance XD-301 for Aspiring Young DJs

Smyths Toys has just the thing! The UK toy retailer has launched the iDance XD-301, a mini DJ setup tailored for kids, packed with features to kickstart their journey in the world of music and mixing.

Unveiled earlier this week, the iDance XD-301 includes a dual-player setup, LED sound pads, effects, and more to keep kids engaged and grooving. Designed to inspire creativity, the setup is billed as “the ultimate tool to showcase your talent on the decks and mix the coolest tracks,” according to Smyths.

The XD-301 packs in a crossfader, audio input, pitch bend, and bass booster effects for full mixing potential, along with two space controllers that enable “airplay” control, giving young DJs the feel of a pro setup. These sensors let kids trigger beats and effects simply by moving their hands, while the mix-drop function allows for easy addition of sound effects.

“Play jingles or drums, add acapellas to your tracks, and with the mix-drop function, take your mixes to new creative heights,” adds Smyths in the product description.

The XD-301 also offers Bluetooth, USB, and MP3 connectivity, and is powered by a rechargeable battery with 4–8 hours of playtime—plenty for budding DJs to enjoy endless practice sessions.

This release follows Blipbox’s myTRACKS, a kid-friendly sampler and synth designed like an MPC, which was announced earlier this year and features 16 pads for sampling and beat-making.
