PREMIERE: Olga Ryazanova dropped her original track 'HOOK'! + Exclusive Interview for djanemag.com!

Olga Ryazanova has years of musical experience to draw on when cooking up successful dance tracks. Given this, there’s good reason to be excited by the news that the Portugies based top DJ has released her fresh work 'HOOK'. Olga had a talk with DJANEMAG and told a lot of interesting things concerning 'HOOK'. Want to know more? Read our interview below. 'HOOK' is available today on all platforms.

DJANEMAG: Tell us a bit about this track — what do you imagine people doing while listening to it?

Olga Ryazanova: When I was working on that track I imagined myself not on the stage, but on dance floor, and in my head it was this idea of a big party – wild and no rules – and

from all these fantasies was born HOOK.

DJANEMAG: Why 'HOOK'? Tell us the story of its name!

Olga Ryazanova: The name 'HOOK' in my track has two meanings: the first meaning comes from music, where the hook is the part of the song that is meant to catch people's

ears and stay in their heads; and the second comes from boxing. You know, the punch? I wanted my track to have that same power. That was my idea.

DJANEMAG: One track becomes a hit, and the other remains unnoticed. What is the secret of success? What do you think it is?

Olga Ryazanova: Not all good songs become a hit. To become a hit I believe there must be at least three factors involved. Number one is good timing: the time you put your track

out coincides with what your audiences are craving right then. Number two is is earnestness: no matter what feelings you are trying to convey (happiness, sadness, anger...) they

must be pure, sincere. And number three is simply luck.

DJANEMAG: Beautiful cover for 'HOOK', by the way! Who is the author?

Olga Ryazanova: It was my idea. In the beginning I wanted just simple black and white cover (that always looks nice), but then I still wanted be part of the cover image so I just put

a girl that just looks like a cartoon version of me.

DJANEMAG: What are the main sources of inspiration?

Olga Ryazanova: My main source of inspiration comes from my live shows. Sometimes I know exactly want I want to play. I have a very clear vision in my head, but I can't find the

samples on the market. So I make my sounds from scratch on my own.

DJANEMAG: What projects do you have coming up this year?

Olga Ryazanova: I already have two ideas for new tracks. There are some mashups coming soon to, and more things that I don't want to reveal just now.
