A PETITION TO KICK ULTRA OUT OF MIAMI
The EDM behemoth, Ultra Music Festival, held annually at Miami’s Bayfront Park area, is under threat from disgruntled residents of downtown Miami.
The petition has been assembled by the Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA), an organization that also was behind news that broke last week about noise complaints and a face-off against residents and three 24-hour clubs in the bustling nightlife city of Miami.
The petition, which collected 1,100 signatures, targets not only Ultra, but also hip-hop festival Rolling Loud. It was delivered yesterday at the city's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting.
"We, the residents of Downtown Miami and its neighboring communities deserve to have daily access to Bayfront Park – our neighborhood park," the petition states. "Instead, since the beginning of 2017, Bayfront Park has been closed to the public or in a state of disrepair for over 100 days because of mega-concerts like Ultra and Rolling Loud."
