Hundreds attended illegal rave at Irish castle

On St. Stephen's Day, when Ireland was under strict restrictions, hundreds of party-goers gathered at Skyrne Castle to attend an illegal rave.

The castle was rented by rave organizers on the Airbnb website.

The event was attended by about 450 ravers and a "famous DJ" played a live set, according to EDM.com, although the identity of the DJs is still unknown.

The owner of the castle said that at about 9:00 pm, numerous locals began to call him about the event, who claimed that loud noise and a lot of taxis were arriving at the castle, so the owner immediately contacted the local police.

Below you can see a video showing the extent of the damage done by the illegal rave to the historic building.

This is not the first time illegal raves have taken place during the Covid-19 pandemic.
