Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte Unite for First-Ever B2B Sets

Mystery solved! Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte confirm two major B2B shows

After weeks of speculation, the Belgian techno DJs Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte will perform together at Flanders Expo.

Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte will perform together early next year at Flanders Expo in Ghent. Last week, Lens and De Witte sparked excitement for a potential collaboration with two enigmatic social media posts teasing a “surprise.” The revelation was recently made by both DJs on their social media accounts. Fans have been buzzing with anticipation for weeks with hints of a possible collaboration. “This has been on everyone’s mind for a while. Now seems like the right time,” commented De Witte to Studio Brussel.

Techno fans finally have confirmation: Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte will perform together. The suspense began this summer at Pukkelpop, when, at the end of her set on the Main Stage, Charlotte De Witte surprised fans with a large QR code and a date. The code led to a photo of De Witte alongside fellow DJ Amelie Lens.

Sharp-eyed fans had already noticed the constant interaction between the two DJs on social media, but for those still in doubt, the confirmation came last week. Both DJs simultaneously posted a photo of themselves with the caption “something big is coming,” revealing that something major was indeed on the way.

Back-to-Back Set

Now we know what’s coming. De Witte and Lens will take the stage at Flanders Expo in Ghent on January 31 and February 1, 2025, for a “back-to-back” set.

“Normally, Amelie and I play our own sets, but now we’re going to perform together,” De Witte explained on Studio Brussel. “We don’t know exactly how we’ll prepare yet. Maybe we’ll do something more spontaneous. Either way, it’s going to be something truly unique.”

After so many years, the moment for collaboration has finally arrived.

“I think the idea of working together has been on everyone’s mind for a long time. Amelie and I started around the same time. After all these years, the timing is perfect for us to join forces. And here we are,” said De Witte.

“It feels so right, it’s not forced,” Lens agreed. “No one reached out to us about this. We were the ones who said: ‘We need to do something together.’ I hope it all goes well, and I really think it will.”

Charlotte De Witte is a DJ, producer, and record label founder. She rose to fame in 2010 and performs at major festivals worldwide. De Witte was voted No. 1 on DJane Mag's Top 100 in 2020, 2022, and 2023, consecutively.

“She’s the one who does everything first,” Lens said of her colleague. “Charlotte goes beyond and breaks barriers in the techno world. She shows that it’s possible to reach far more people with electronic music than previously thought.”

Amelie Lens started her career as a DJ in 2014. She manages two labels, LENSKE and EXHALE, and spent three years in Ibiza, helping to solidify the genre there.

“Amelie is a huge source of inspiration for me,” said De Witte. “She does everything with a pure heart and so much energy. When I see how she balances her pregnancy and her daughter, I feel like she inspires not only me but also other female DJs.”

No Rivalry

De Witte firmly believes the two DJs will complement each other well during the set. “We know each other well, and that will be reflected in our performance.”

Both reject any idea of rivalry. “We started our careers around 14 years ago. In the beginning, we had a lot of contact; we were both Belgian trying to break barriers.”

“Over time, we focused on our own careers, but I never lost sight of Amelie. I think I understand how she thinks quite well.”

Possible Musical Collaboration?

At Flanders Expo, an audience of 20,000 people per night is expected. The full lineup will be revealed later, but the two Techno Queens are already confirmed.

“Expect a lot of energy and a lot of love. We’re going to try to connect the entire techno community and unite everyone,” said Lens.

As for a possible collaborative single? “And then, silence,” De Witte responded with a laugh. “Maybe, it would be really cool,” teased Lens.
