The full line-up for the Arcadia Spider’s Australian debut

If you’ve looked longingly at photos from UK mega-festival Glastonbury in recent years, you’ve probably encountered the Arcadia Spectacular. The 360-degree stage takes the form of a 50-tonne spider that shoots lasers and fireworks – in short, it’s pretty hard to miss.

As you might have heard, the Arcadia Spider is touching down in Australia for the very first time to kick off the summer festival season. Its exclusive destination is Perth’s Elizabeth Quay, where the gargantuan structure will hold fort from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 November.

Now the full lineup has been announced for three days of Arcadia action. Friday is described as “one for the adults”, with a DJ set from legendary electronic act Leftfield and jungle don Shy FX at the top of the bill. Australia’s own Alison Wonderland and Carmada will headline both the over-18s party on Saturday and the underage event on Sunday.

The Arcadia Spider is constructed primarily from recycled materials, including jet engine blades and military helicopter tails. In addition to all those DJ sets, the Spider promises a whole lot more sensory overload, with The Landing Show a key part of each night. If you want to witness it in action, but don’t live in WA, consider this: Perth is a whole lot closer than Glastonbury.
