Exclusive Interview with DJ Leenata. When destiny is music

DJANEMAG had a talk with DJ Leenata from Ukraine. When you look at this tiny charming blonde it's so difficult to imagine that she could be so ambitious and strong-willed! Due to her extreme energy, persistence, confidence and hard work she easily conquered Asian market...What is next? the USA, Europe? Read our interview with Leenata and find out. DJANEMAG: First question is a traditional one. What is the origin of your nickname? What does it mean and who came up with it? 

Leenata: The origin of my nickname is really interesting and funny! Since high school time my friends call me Asian girl and some of them call me Lee, because it's traditional Asian name. When I decided to become a DJ I remember about this. As the saying goes if you want to succeed, learn to laugh at yourself. So I made it. And all signs pointed to this name: my name is Natalee so if you swap the letters will be Leenata. Also that time I became to first DJ in Asia style and my guardian is a dragon. So this name absolutely mine. 

DJANEMAG: Why did you decide to choose an artistic profession? Was it your dream from early years and was it difficult to start? Give some advice to DJanes, who are just starting their way in DJing. 

Leenata: From child time I all time was singing, play the piano and dancing. That was not a dream that was my reality. Lol So my destiny was music since birth. Everybody who wanna be a DJ or somebody not only artist "JUST DO IT AND NEVER GIVE UP" this is my philosophy of life. 

DJANEMAG: You didn't live in Ukraine for a longtime so where are you living and working now? 

Leenata: First time I came to China in 2012 for one year but after come back home. This last two years I am living to India (Goa) and Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur). This places amazing especially Goa! All people who come there ones they never go out! Lol Anyway Asia is really awesome place at its core (traditions, history, national costumes) but I am planing next year living to USA. Hope this live experience will be interesting also. 

As we know this January you made your new clip in India on Goa. Can you tell us how it was and about your impression?That was really awesome. Sea, sun, beach ... we enjoyed every moment spent there. Filming lasted for almost a week, and every day we got up at peep of morning. But Indian breakfast already lifted the mood and of course music. This experience was really interesting. Also since we had not only to relax, remove the clip, as well as I have worked in several clubs in Goa and of course all over India. I interviewed local television and radio, and lastly managed I please some several Indian festivals from which left a lot of impressions as well, for which many thanks to India! 

Also to this answer New clip with old song known by all of you like «My minds» was made in Ukraine with two sound producers Kain and Vlad Jet and release on Bomba records in 2012 year. During the first month of our release Kain, Vlad Jet, Leenata - My Minds supported by such djs and producers like: Dinka, Answer42, Aurosonic, Julio Cesar, Steve Anderson, and many others. - Original confidently holds the second place in the chart TOP10 Mixadance FM. 

DJANEMAG: How long time you are a DJ and which countries you visited already?

Leenata: I am a DJ already 7 years. Honestly can’t believe in that because time flies so quickly when engaged in favorite business. For this time i have been to many countries like: Egypt, Russia, Moldova, India, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Germany and others. There are was more then 20 countries already. 

DJANEMAG: What about your studio time? Tell our readers about your latest release?

Leenata: Now I have a lot of tours especially in China. Last my tour with Budweiser beer. This is really crazy time with our team! Every day new city and new club. This is really amazing because we already have been to the biggest and best clubs like Soho, True Color, Muse, VIP and others. I spend really good time, but despite this i got a little time for studio and its upsets me because my new unfinished tracks waiting me. My last release was in March with DJ Slava Kol "Let's funk tonight» on Noize Bangers label and before in February my own track (of course as always with my vocal) "Deep in my heart» on The Groove Society label. And we found a bit of time to finish our new remix on Calvin Harris ft. Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love which you can enjoy in free downloading on our soundcloud account. 

DJANEMAG: How do you usually master your tracks, for work, or you leave to be done at the end of the project?

Leenata: I have different kinds of samples which i already made and when i working i using various kits, which I think are very expired in terms of sounds. Working on a project I want to use a a specific set, I'll start my project with the corresponding master circuit. So that means when I finish, already have something to play. Of course I'm going to handle the mix, but it's already sounding pretty hard. 

DJANEMAG: Could you describe your feelings when you play music?

Leenata: To my mind, it's some cocktail of sensations of fear, love, euphoria, pride, and each is a kind of a mix. What does all of these emotions occur in certain seconds. I mean before you go to the stage have a little worry because of new place so you must feel which music is the best for this place after you come to the equipment and probe the people with the kind of music and than when you guess finally YES! GOT IT! Here is your euphoria! Especially when you driving crazy the crow when they jumping and singing with you this is indescribable feelings. 

DJANEMAG: Can you share your dreams and plans for future concerning Djing? What would you like to achieve?

Leenata: Oh! Soon will be a lot of interesting: first of all planning stop my Asia tours and start finally euro tour than we will make a new clips on our new tracks and will reales our new track and mixes! So all the most delicious waiting for you to come!
