Exclusive Interview with DJ Gretta

When you look at DJ Gretta, first she seems to be the fragile blonde, who looks like an angel, always cheerful and carefree, and it's true! DJANEMAG: First question is a traditional one) Who came up with your nickname and what does it mean!? By the way, Gretta sounds interesting!

Gretta: My nickname invented my friend, cause my favorite style when I started to play was german techno. So he said that my nickname should be connected with german name. Gretta is really one of the most popular german names. What is more, for me, my nickname resembles a word "great" and this is an association with something good.

DJANEMAG: Why did you decide to choose an artistic profession? Was it your dream from early years and was it difficult to start?

Gretta: Yes, it was my dream since childhood, of course like all girls at first i wanted to be a singer, but when i turned 16, I clearly understood that I wanted to make people happy, so after this time i became a DJ. It was not hard to learn to play as well cause I  really wanted it, it was a goal of my life, and now also. Of course money plays a very important role in life, but every DJ shouldn't forget to feel the audience and mood.

DJANEMAG: Your experience as a DJ has taken you across the world. We noticed that you lived in China for a long time! Why did you move and why did you decide to choose Сhina?

Gretta: Yes, I lived in China approximately 4 years and I love this country, it has given me a lot and really have sacrificed. At first, it was just interesting because of China is a very good experience for a DJ, because of a great amount of clubs and all different equipments. I will never forget my first trip, it was hard and funny. After that, I could play in almost every club and a little bit later I became a resident of night club Fashion TV.

DJANEMAG: What traits of character a person should have to become successful in an artistic environment? as the competition is great!)

Gretta: Of course girls need to pump up the lips and completely change the appearance, Looooooool)) Nope, it is not important! You need to have an individual style, be not like others, be gentle and honest as possible and the most importantly is to be able to adapt to each audience in any country.

DJANEMAG: Is there any female Dj you admire and want to play with?

Gretta: Hmmm... I don't know, maybe among girls I have no idol, I want play with Afrojack)

DJANEMAG: Do you think that «Dj world» is men's world? In your opinion is it harder for girl to become famous Dj?  

Gretta: Yes, it's so hard for girls to become famous, cause of prepossession. A lot of men think that if you are  a girl so you can't play very well, but it's not true, I know a lot of men, who play worse than girls)

DJANEMAG: Could you describe your feelings when you play music?

Gretta: It's so amazing to feel when u see people, who love you and love your music! Each fan is very important for me, cause all my work it's just for them!!!

DJANEMAG: What are your biggest sources of inspiration when you are mixing or producing music?

Gretta: It can be anything! people, events, weather, a book, a new track...

DJANEMAG: Can you share your dreams and plans for future concerning Djing? What would you like to achieve?

Gretta: I want to get into the Top100Djanes of djanemag and take the first place! hehe))))) I will be work for this very hard. By the way. I will make a new guest mix with one of the famous DJs but now it's secret.
